Hello and welcome to my site. Let me tell you how this little venture all began.
It began about a year ago when I decided to make my new Shitzu puppy Bailey a quilt. One to put in his bed or on the sofa so he could lie down beside me when I read or watched TV. Since then I've made quite a few more quilts than I ever anticipated.
I design the quilts that I make for folks according to their desires for either themselves, their pets, or their baby or maybe a friends baby. I let the customer select a " focus " fabric that they like or maybe just a color pallett they want to use in their home. I then add contrasting or coordinating fabrics to compliment the personanlity of the person, the setting or even the personality of their pet. Normally I use about 5 - 7 different fabrics in each quilt. I love to blend colors and fabric designs until they please the eye. I use time tested quilting patterns. Some with simple designs and others that certainly are not your basic design. I also have plans for some non-traditional quilts that I've not yet actually made but the design has promise. I'd like someday to do some art quilts but haven't had a lot of time to try my hand this yet.
I have a number pictures in the Gallery of quilts that I've already delivered. I can make a quilt that is similiar to one of them or maybe something special "just for you". No two quilts are ever the same. At least not yet !!
I can't do large volumes of quilts like some because I still work a full time job. I work at a well known open heart center in Georgia. I've been at the same hospital since 1982.
So if you see something you like in the gallery contact me by e-mail or use the order form on the site. You could send me a picture of something you like and I'll see if I feel comfortable with my skills to do that pattern. The more complicated the pattern and the more time intensive the more it could cost so we would need to agree on a price range before I could do it. No surprises at the completion. I require 50 % of the total as a deposit and the balance plus shipping & handeling before the quilt is shipped. If you'll send me your e-mail address then I'll be able to contact you if I have questions while designing your quilt or maybe I can e-mail you as it progresses. This site won't be your mass produced and glitzy site that some you see but rather a personal design site. I want each quilt to be special and Just for You. If you've looked over quilts available on other web sites you'll find that most of them are simple designs because they can be done quickly. I try to make mine different from the run of the mill quilts available. The prices are somewhat higher but as you compare what else is generally available you'll realize why I ask more than the usual. All my quilts are made of 100% quilters quality material averaging $10 or more a yard. Then there are the miscellaneous items such as threads, stencils, beads or other embellishments if you really want to get fancy. They are all machine pieced by me personally. The batting I use is a high quality cotton that holds it's shape with many many washings. I just cannot use your standard "box store" fabric because they tend to fray and the seams just don't hold up. You know when we purchase bed sheets we look at thread count so they'll wash well & last a long time. I do the same with my fabrics.
Please let me hear from you if I can do something really special just for you or someone that's special to you. Or maybe you'll just browse the site from time to time to see what I delivered recently. I'll post a picture of every quilt I do for you all to look at and enjoy.
Thanks for dropping by!
